Training
EDAP TMS gives high-end training to Ablatherm® HIFU and Sonolith® users from urology surgeon to OR staff and technicians. The Company is registered as an official training center (Training center registration number: 82.69.09204.69).
Ablatherm® HIFU training
Phase 1
The urology surgeon receives an EDAP TMS training manual prior to visiting one of the qualified Ablatherm® HIFU reference sites to observe the treatment process from start to finish with a certified proctor treating his or her own patients.
The training material includes a training program, a training manual, a complete Ablatherm® HIFU literature review, an Ablatherm® Robotic HIFU® user manual and a quizz.
Phase 2
The surgeon will treat his or her own patients in their hospital with the assistance of an EDAP TMS Applications Specialist.
Ablatherm® HIFU treatment simulator
EDAP TMS developed an Ablatherm® treatment simulation software to enable surgeons to get trained on the real Ablatherm® software in near-real conditions without any risk.
Ablatherm® HIFU Expert
If a surgeon has carried out a sufficient number of Ablatherm® HIFU treatments, he or she may become an EDAP TMS certified Ablatherm® HIFU trainer.
Nurse training
Nurses and OR staff are given special Ablatherm® HIFU training supported by a specific documentation.
ESWL Sonolith® training
For all Sonolith® users, the training is fully done at the urologist's pratice with an EDAP TMS Applications Specialist assisting the urologist on several treatments.
The full Sonolith® training is divided in 2 levels:
Level 1
This level is dedicated to training urologists, nurses and OR staff to set, start, and check the Sonolith® device. Patient prepping and installation on Sonolith® lithotripter is also included in this initial training phase.
Level 2
At this stage, the urologist or OR staff is trained to use imaging systems (X-ray and ultrasound) to locate the stone(s) and to use the Sonolith® generator to treat the patient.
